KENNY WATSON
MAN 1 – JESUS
 
Kenny Watson, an accomplished musician who has toured nationally and internationally, has vocal versatility that spans across the genres of R&B, jazz, alternative, classical, and hip-hop. He is engaged in social activism with his music as the co-music director and headline performer with AfroFlow, a cancer awareness initiatives with the American Cancer Society. This is Kenny’s fifth year playing role of “Jesus.”

VINCENT KELLEY
MAN 2 – PETER, SOLDIER 2, PRIEST 2
 
Originally from the Metro-Detroit area, he feels honored to be a part of something bringing such amazing art throughout the Detroit area. Most recently: ‘Les Miserables’ (Marius), ‘Life Could Be a Dream’ (Wally), and a vocalist with Celebrity Cruises Inc. Much love and great thanks to his wonderful family, friends, God, Nieto Productions, and the incredible team of TCTL!
ASHLEY ROZANSKI
WOMAN 2 – MARY MAGDALENE
 
Ashley currently resides and performs throughout New York City, but is proud to originally be from Michigan. Her favorite roles include Elle Woods in “Legally Blonde” at the Detroit Actors Theatre Company for which she was the recipient of the DATCY Award for Best Actress in a musical, and Marta in “Company,” for which she was an Irene Ryan semi-finalist at KCACTF.
 
 
NANCY INGLES
WOMAN 1 – THE BLESSED MOTHER
 
Born and raised in Michigan, Nancy moved to NYC where she started her professional theatre career. She began as the lead singer for Holland America cruise lines, later joined the national tours of “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Shout! The Mod Musical,” and finally was crowned Miss USO in 2008 where she toured nationally performing for our troops and veterans. She recently moved back to the state she never stopped calling home where she has since joined several local theaters playing Amalia in “She Loves Me,” Emma in “Jekyll and Hyde,” and Cosette in “Les Miserables.” She is thrilled to join the cast of “The Cross and the Light” where her faith will be the inspiration behind the music.

BRADLEY ELLISON
MAN  3 – PONTIUS PILATE, SINGING SOLDIER & THOMAS
 
Bradley is a graduate of Oakland University, where he studied musical theater and business and administration. Prior roles in his 27 year career include Marius in “Les Miserables” and “Joseph” in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He and his wife are excited to make their debut this summer in the greatest role they can imagine: mommy and daddy.
 
ARIELLE CROSBY
WOMAN 3 – MARY CLEOPHUS 
 
Arielle Crosby is a native Detroiter and graduate of Kentucky State University with experience singing opera, musical theatre, gospel, pop and R&B. She has performed as a soloist and with ensembles on stages ranging from the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville to the Palau de Música in Barcelona. She has starred in several productions in the Detroit area including fiAidafl, “Dreamgirls”, the up-and-coming Detroit Public Theatre’s season opener “Murder Ballad”, and, most recently, “In The Heights”. She is glad to be rejoining the cast of The Cross and the Light.
 
 
MATT MANUEL
MAN 4 – JUDAS, THE HIGH PRIEST & THOMAS
Matt Redmond is a Singer/Actor/model from the Detroit area. He studied vocal music performance at Macomb Community college, and Western Michigan university. In 2013, he was a contestant on American Idol. In 2016, he played the role of Benjamin in the short film “Akoma”, which went on to win quite a few awards in film festivals around the country including Click On Detroit’s Film Festival. Currently, he is the male vocalist for The Simone Vitale Band.
 
 
 
 
A FEW NOTES ABOUT THE ROLES
  • The Cross and the Light Tour has 7 singers who play all 12 character roles.
  • Each singer plays multiple roles except for the role of “Jesus” and “The Blessed Mother.”
  • So which character sings which songs? Click here to view the Scene List.
  • Are there costume changes? Yes! There is one costume change to emphasize the character transformations after Jesus ascends and the Holy Spirit descends on them in the Upper Room.
